Note: FM Global DS 1-6 recommends internal sprinkler protection for all cooling towers with combustible fill within 50 ft of a building. Major losses have occurred from cooling tower fires spreading to adjacent structures. FRP and PVC fills burn rapidly. Provide linear heat detection and automatic sprinklers within the fill section.
