NFPA 20 Jockey Pump Guidelines

  • Capacity should make up normal system leakage
  • Typical flow: 1-3% of fire pump rated flow
  • Pressure: Higher than fire pump churn by 5-10 PSI
  • Start pressure: 5-10 PSI below shutoff
  • Fire pump should start ~5 PSI below jockey start
