Notification Requirements
Visual (Strobes)
Required in all public/common areas and restrooms. Candela based on room size. Synchronized flashing required.
Audible (Horns/Speakers)
15 dBA above ambient or 5 dBA above max sound (1 min). Sleeping areas: 75 dBA at pillow level.
ADA Compliance
Visual notification required where audible is used. Mount 80-96" AFF for wall units. Strobe intensity per Table 18.5.5.4.1.
